If continuity is the basis of a sound business then W. Bloy and Son has good grounding. Established in 1865 the business has remained in the same family and the same street for all of its many years of trading.
William Bloy, the original founder, started as a humble tatter and cullet merchant. The firm progressed from glass to timber and paraffin and then into scrap metal.
In 1957 when the existing building was built the decision was made to concentrate entirely on non-ferrous metal and so it has continued.
Through the many generations W. Bloy and Son has been
passed down from father to son. Now in its fourth generation, Mrs I Bloy
(the wife of the late Mr Arthur Bloy) continues with the help of her
daughter and son-in-law, taking great pride in providing the best
possible service. Going from strength to strength we continue to provide
the community with a reliable and responsible location for non-ferrous
metal disposal.
All metals are paid for by weight and our honesty,
integrity and civility is valued by customers old and new. No matter how
large or small the quantities our customers in local trades and
businesses, manufacturers, construction and demolition, and indeed the
general public are all treated with the same respect.
Contact us if you have any questions, we will be only too pleased to help if we can. We are an aluminium can recycling centre and provide a scrap merchant service for non ferrous metals including:
